Professor Krzysztof
Pawłowski

PhD Alumnus of the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University, received his PhD in physics from Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Cracow and an honorary doctorate from National - Louis University (Chicago, US). In the years from 1969 to 1989, he was the head of a research laboratory at Sadeckie Zakłady Elektro-Weglowe (SZEW). In 1980, he co-founded and served as a Chairman of the Catholic Inteligentsia Club (KIK) in Nowy Sacz. Since 1991 he has been a member of the Founders Lounge and the chairman of the Council of Organizers of the Business Center Club. From 1989 to 1993, he served as a Senator of the first and second terms of the Polish Parliament. In 1990, he founded and subsequently served as the President of the Nowy Sacz - Podhale Chamber of Commerce. From 1993 to 1997, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the National Chamber of Commerce; from 1997 to 2000 - chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Non-public Universities; from 1995 to 1999 and from 2002 to 2005 - a member of the Board of the Management Education Association FORUM. From 1998 - 1999, a member of the National Council for National Reform, and from 1998 to 2001 a member of the National Committee for European Integration. Since 1999 he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation. Since 2007, a member of the Supervisory Board of PEKAO SA and a member of the Main Panel in the Foresight National Program. He was the founder and from 1992 to 2007 served as Rector of Wyzsza Szkoła Biznesu - National-Louis University in Nowy Sacz, and since 1996, a founder and Rector of Wyzsza Szkoła Biznesu in Tarnów. Since January 14, 2008, he is a founder and President of Wyzsza Szkoła Biznesu - National Louis University with a registered office in Nowy Sacz. He has written two books, Information Society a Chance for Poland and Rediscovering Higher Education in Europe, Bucharest: UNESCO-CEPES; has edited four books and co-authored 35 joint publications; moreover, he has authored more than 40 research papers on structure of graphite, manufacturing technology for carbon and graphite materials as well as more than 60 publications devoted to the development of higher education, management and transformation of the educational system and regional development in Poland.

Dr. Jozef Dziechciarz

Dean of the Faculty of
Management, Computer Sciences and Finance, head of the Department of Econometrics,
researcher and lecturer in Wroclaw University of Economics, Wroclaw, Poland – teaches
Econometrics, Market Research, Quantitative Methods for Management and several
specialized courses. He published more than 160 articles and books. Fields of research interest covers econometric
modeling, econometric modeling with variable and random coefficients, modeling
on qualitative data and multivariate methods of data analysis. Empirical
research is concentrated on small business administration, market research,
market data analysis, macroeconomic data modeling, macroeconomic data analysis,
business surveys, manufacturing branches data analysis, SMEs
management, SMEs situation assessment, information
needs determination. Member of the Committee
for Statistics and Econometrics, Polish
Academy of Sciences. Member
of the international scientific organizations: Centre for International Research
on Economic Tendency Surveys; International Federation of Classification
Societies; European and International Council for Small Business; The
International Society for Third-Sector Research; Standing Committee for Regional
and Urban Statistics. Acts as editorial board member in International
scientific Journals: Management (Croatia) and Journal
for Management and Development (Slovenia) as well as Polish scientific
Journals (Econometrics, and Operations Research). He has been
lecturing in several Universities including Berlin, Bremen, Bochum, Mainz in
Germany, Limerick in Ireland, Preston in UK, Hasselt in Belgium, Marseille in
France; Vesteros in Sweden and Lehigh in Bethlehem
(USA). Reads, speaks and writes in English, German and Russian Languages. He is
active in administrative area, for number of years he is member of Senat, University’s parliament, Vice-Rector for Development
and International Relations (1999-2005); Dean (2005-).

Dr. Sohail Luka
Currently,
Dr. Luka holds the position of Policy Officer in The Universities &
Researchers Unit, Research Directorate General, European Commission;
He
received his B.Sc. degree in Microbiology and Chemistry from Ain Shams
University in Cairo in 1986 and his Ph.D. in Molecular Microbial Genetics
from the University of Tennessee, USA.
Since then, he has occupied several academic positions in Egypt at the
National Research Centre (NRC), Agricultural Genetic Engineering Research Institute
(AGERI) and Mubarak City for Science and Technology (MuSCAT),
respectively. During the period of
1994-1997, he acted as a Visiting Professor in Molecular Genetics at the
International Institute for Genetics and Biophysics, Italian National Research
Council (CNR), Naples, Italy;
In
1997, he moved from academia to the Industry joining Procter & Gamble
company, first in the Human & Environmental Safety department and
ultimately as External Relations Manager for Europe, Africa and the
Middle-East. He was based in the
company’s European Headquarters in Brussels;
He
is the author of numerous scientific articles in international peer-reviewed
journals as well as book chapters in the scientific literature;
Dr.
Luka speaks Arabic, English, Italian and French. He is a musician of classical Arabic music
and a Judo coach. He has had a musical
release in the USA and two published food recipes.
