AIMS of IHEPI
IHEPI is undertaken to create a NETWORK of EXPERTS engaged
in higher education policy, innovation policy and those worked on establishing
partnerships between the various actors of a knowledge-based economy.
The aim of the IHEPI2009 is to offer a new platform
for a broad range of interested institutional actors as natural partners in the
co-ordination and orientation of the generation of knowledge and innovation
representing the rational and considerations of higher education, research and development as well as business
enterprises.
More efficient utilization of the innovative potential
and resources of knowledge calls for more reflective and responsive
understanding of the supply and demand sides of the application of the results
of higher education and innovation processes. The necessary definition and the
harmonisation of the aspirations, expectations and possibilities of these partners require improved connection and communication among one another and across
national borders.
IHEPI will
also give an opportunity to exchange experiences, analyse, develop and improve
participants’ approaches to the development of trans-European collaboration. In
this respect, the effects and stimulus provided by the launch of the EIT as the European co-coordinative centre for
concerted research and innovation endeavours need to be explored in more
details. The selection and the launch of the Knowledge and Innovation Centres is
well expected to create more focused and direct bonds of co-operation on a
European scale.
Our planned conference and workshops are
also going to present a timely opportunity not only to discuss, but also to
identify the prospects and the possibilities for involvement in an expanding
range of activities under this evolving initiative at the level of the Union.
The conference will represent an occasion where
interested universities and research centres could connect their purposes and
priorities to those of potential future partners.
